How to Use a Shredder and Slicer

Understanding how to use a slicing and shredding machine can significantly extend its lifespan. Let’s take a closer look at the proper usage of slicing and shredding machines:

  1. Adjustment: To adjust, first loosen the nut securing the copper post. Then, rotate the nut to fine-tune the thickness of the copper post. Once the desired thickness is achieved, be sure to tighten the nut securely against the copper post. If the cutting disc and blade are parallel, do not turn on the machine. The cutting disc must be positioned lower than the blade before you can start cutting. The maximum adjustable thickness is approximately 3 mm; for thinner materials, the adjustment is continuously variable.

  2. Replacing the blade: Insert the hexagonal handle into the hole on the side of the machine. Rotate it to adjust the disc’s orientation before replacing the blade. When replacing the blade, first loosen the two hexagonal screws that secure the blade, then insert the new blade and reattach the screws.

Precautions for the Slicer and Slicing Machine

  1. Regularly apply oil to the knife and basin to prevent buildup of grime. If food residues or fine fragments remain after cutting, it indicates that the food has not been softened properly or that the blade is dull—both situations require either replacing the blade or sharpening it. If the setting is too thin, the cutting performance will still be poor.

  2. Slice sticky foods by cutting them with a surface that has some moisture.
